Perfect Stranger?

What do I get out of talking to you? I mean, I don't know you personally and yet, I can tell you all my personal shit. The most I know about you is a profile pic you took in your bathroom and a few other pictures you took with some friends. Your first name and your screen name. Where you from and.. That's about it. Why do I trust you? Why when I feel like I can't talk to anybody, I can log on yahoo, aim or any other medium online and release whatever is on my mind?

When we first started talking, I admit I didn't think shit would come of it. I had one of my moments where I was mad at the world and you just so happen to be the victim online to hear about it. You don't know me and yet you seemed so interested in my problems and concerned. We typed back and forth for what seemed like 30 mins but was actually a few hours. I don't remember where I got your screen name from. Had to be facebook or myspace cause I don't fuck with blackplanet or twitter. Even thouh we talk on aim/yahoo all the time, neither one of us dare ask for each others number. Ohhhh noo!! You might be some crazy as killer haha, as ironic as that sounds, its the truth! Here it is, we talk everyday sometimes all day about personal shit, shit we wouldn't tell anyone else and we won't exchange numbers or meet up.

To take take place of meeting up we exchange pics. Not regular pics of course but nasty ones. I show u mine, you show me yours. Occasional web cam sessions, you know how that go. But whatever it is we have, it fills a void that no one can seem to fill in person. When I need to vent, you're there. When comcast was fucking up after that storm and I had no Internet for a couple days, I damn ner lost my mind. You have to be somewhat of a close friend to me, you have to be. But all of this happened over a computer? Why? How? I talk about people like me! When someone say they met someone online and shit, I laugh at them but here I am.. Chatting my ass off to you. I guess I understand now.

I know someone has met someone online at least once and they hit it off. Seemed to be the perfect stranger.. Don't make me seem like I'm crazy.. O well, fuck it. It aint the first time I have been called that.

P.S. I have no perfect strangers at the moment but I have. Just had to put a disclaimer since folks think I spread my buisness all on the web lol.

Hhmm...this is very interesting...a lot of people have the perfect strangers and maybe its because they feel as if they can express themselves and not be judged and if they were to judge you would it really matter...it could be a form of therapy....lol but people pay tons of money to lay on a couch and spill their life and not be judged but to me I express myself wayy better through writing...maybe that's why people are soooo comfortable with a perfect stranger....I like this one :) gives you something to think about lol

It's easier to be yourself (for some people) over the Internet, to a bunch of strangers, than around friends in person (as ironic as that may be) I used to think people who met other people over the internet were a little wacked out, but I've talked to total strangers over the internet before, hell, I have a blog, I do it all the time, so it's really not as bad as it seems, people doing crazy shit like making up fake profiles and raping little boys and girls after metting up w/ them puts the image of insanity in our heads. It's just another form of communication.

I think people are more comfortable with strangers because you don't have to ever talk to them again if you don't want to, you don't have to see them, so it's like they can judge you less, or not at all...weird, but true. Well, thats one of the reasons I've thought of.

well I guess u can say that I fall into that category there bro. I meet girls all the time online. how does that make u feel? someone u really don't even know and haven't even seen before minus the webcam is sharing all of ur personal business and shit. it seems so right but can be so wrong at the same time.

true story man! true story. You know what it kinda remind me of? The previous blog "Wrong number." except its online. the point is, your talkin to some stranger about your problems and it feels good, because that person didn't judge, you sat on the phone w/ her and talked to her && they sat on the comp talkin to u, reading your problems =] Kinda the same eh?! But chyeaa mane, this blog is good. =] Happened to me before and hey, we're best friends now for like 4 years now. she in ATL im in NY =] she knows who she is.

i can relate... we myspaced like penpals, we're on aim for hours, then he made me get yahoo messenger, lol. then we met, fell in love, and fell apart... guess he was my "slightly" perfect stranger. i still love him though. he's my bestest... when we feel like it lol

your too much lol but like a lot of other people have said I think it's sometimes easier to express yourself to those you don't know because they can't judge you and if they do it's not like they know you personally

this was such a good post [but that's a regular thing, ha]!
i definitely say the same stuff, like oh no, why are you meeting ppl through the internet?
but it's just like you can connect with ppl on there and tell em all ur business because somehow u know they'll never be able to tell ppl that are actually around you and the same if u guys are in 2 different areas. it's also like you can release everything to that one person that will listen/respond back to u on aim without judging you as a person, considering the fact that they dont know you, it's all in characterization.
but yo, it's definitely not crazy anymore. look at how much we all depend on technology now, why not meet your boyfriend/girlfriend through there too? HAHA, definitely not me, but im just saying, that's prolly what ppl are thinking. im still a little iffy about it when ppl get in too deep and ask for numbers and shit cuz little do you know, they're old enough to be your grandpapa. so im always sketchy about that altho i could meet him with a friend, ya never know what ppl are capable of so ur better off getting to know the nigg that tried to talk to you/girl you tried to talk to in the streets.

ha, sorry for writing a story for a comment.

yo this one is so true..I sometimes write random females online and talk to them like I known them but never exchange numbers it's just a good way of getting stuff off your chest I guess. Like you never actually use real names and actually places cause like you said they could be killers but that never goes into play..it's just when you need to vent they are there and they have feed back but it's funny the same things you may tell them you won't tell the person next to you because you feel they might judge you or call you crazy so you tend to play the perfect stranger role..your blogs are like crack or lays potato chips "betcha can't just read one" lmao

Beautiful Q March 11, 2009 at 2:33 PM

I use to be the same way DizZ...I'd be the main person ridin' people who would sit at the computer all day infatuated with someone they don't know. I admit, I had a Perfect stranger or two!

Tashur Raquel March 15, 2009 at 3:52 AM
